Unfortunately the name of the book is deceptive. It is definitely not a definitive guide on everything you’ll need to know about the vertical garden, especially if you’re looking for a book that’s practical and gives you specific information how to build and maintain your own vertical garden. If you are looking for a book to inform you about the general spirit of vertical gardening and want an overview of all the different options and variables that need to be taken into consideration when working on a vertical garden, then yes, this book covers a lot.
He spends a lot of time explaining things like plant biology and water chemistry but doesn't spend any time explaining how his prefered system of vertical gardening using synthetic felt works. Ignacio gives you very little specifics or hints or practical tips about making your own vertical garden which I was specifically looking for.
There is also the other problem that his book has been translated from Spanish into English. The translation is OK although sometimes hard to understand. The biggest problem is that there are many spaces missing between words which gets annoying as there is about one a page.
Pros: 1. Takes you to a deeper appreciation of the complexity of what goes into creating a vertical garden.
2. If you’re a fan of Ignacio then you get an insight into his philosophy to vertical gardening.
3. Lots of photos of his projects that probably give you more practical information on how he makes a vertical wall than the words do.
4. A somewhat helpful plant guide with some of his personal insight into specific plant behaviour in vertical gardens.
I wouldn't recommend it as a 'definitive' text on the vertical garden.

Definitive Guide of the Vertical Garden Ignacio Solano 9788460880332 Books Reviews
I bought this book and started to make my own vertical garden, it's very complete and the list of plants provided helped me to choose the right ones for my home project. Five stars indeed !
This book is exactly what I expected (and what I was looking for). It gives a lot of useful information about the different factors that affect the growing of a vertical garden. The best part for me has been the list of species included, with plants of proved success. I give this book a score of 10/10
I didn't like this book. Just a Internet search I found more information than this book.
