I don't know how the author does it, but I'm intrigued and disgusted at the same time. Especially in this second book in the John Hazard series. I just want everyone to know that I'm creeped out by the ending so forewarning everybody! JH Glaze has done a marvelous job of intertwining stories from each of the characters and their perspectives to bring together this fascinating read. The story line is very well written and flows flawlessly. I was so enamored by what was going on I had to finish it even though it is 12 at night while I'm writing this, hoping I will not be dreaming of those creatures that he wrote in this book. ICK! I love how the characters grow and expand before your eyes, especially Em and John! I can't wait to see what Luck has in store for them! This is not my typical read. I usually read YA Books or Romance or whatnot, but I read SpiritBox and loved the darkness that it provided and how the character comes to grip with the supernatural things going on around him.
The story starts where SpiritBox left off. John is going to school to become a paranormal detective instead of just a regular one. He is in a class and fixing to go on a field trip where weird things are happening. John and his classmates are thrust into a grip-defying and life-threatening encounter with otherworldly creatures. Will they make it out alive? I took my time reading this book because I didn't want to miss a minute of what was happening. I was on the edge of my seat. I give this book 5 star review!

I received Northwest by the Author as a gift in return of an Honest review.
I have never been one for Alien books or movies, but JH Glaze changed my opinion of Aliens with Northwest!
John Hazard former police officer, detective, and Marine, who is now working on a new career. John has been taking classes on Paranormal activity and needs one final test to pass. Not knowing what he is getting himself in to the Final test is sending him to the Northwest territory to investigate some unexplained activity "So he thinks". When he agrees to take this trip he and several others don't realize that the instructor of the class has not totally been honest with them as to WHY she has them going to the Northwest to investigate there. There are several other places they could take their final test. This group has no clue what is waiting for them in the Forest of the Northwest!!
JH has really taken every aspect of gore, blood, guts, and total horror and made a story about Aliens and turned it into a ever lasting nightmare for me. Now this is a GREAT thing. I have never been able to watch much less read anything concerning Aliens, can never make it past the first chapter in a book relating them. But with Northwest I could not put the book down without wondering what was going to happen next. Definitely a MUST READ!! Blood and guts galore if you like that sort of thing you do not want to miss this book. Thank You JH for keeping me glued to the edge of my seat, I am so looking forward to reading more form your library of Blood and Gore.

I really loved this book! Though "NorthWest" is the second volume in the "John Hazard" series, and I didn't read the first one, I didn't have any problem. The book can be read alone, and I loved this thing. A good author is an author that can make you understand his/her book even though you didn't read the previous one. Yeah, I am saying that JH Glaze is a very good author.
I found the story very good.I liked the storyline, because it's easy to followand also entertaining. The story is also ver special and original. A story with aliens? Yeah, you could say that there are milions of stories with aliens in the world, but I've never read a book with aliens THAT good. And, what I appreciated the most,is that Jeff created different aliens. His imagination amazed me every moment. I wish I could have his imagination. I will never ever see the aliens like I saw them before reading this book just some green , little and weird "humans". But after I read Glaze's book, I think about them just as bugs with human legs.Creepy.
"NorthWest" is the kind of book that keeps you hooked from the very first page until the last one. You can find lots of suspense in this book and if you are searching to give you creeps, well you found the right book. This book was so scary at times that I even had a nightmare with an alien from this book.Every scary moment in the book was so well described that you felt like you were watching it.This made me think that "NorthWest" would make a great film. One of those movies that you are watching with a pillow in you arms and scream "Don't go there, don't go there!".
The characters are very well portrated. They are real, just normal people with strange abilities and strange stories. Normal, huh? My favorite characters is John (obviously) and Emily. I totally disliked and kind of hated Macy for what she did. I liked very much that the author presents you the characters first. This helped me a lot, since I didn't read the first book, but I surely do it in the future. I want more of John Hazard and more of JH Glaze's amazing style writing!
Even if I say that this book is soooo good, you can't really imagine how good and how full of everything a book needs to be an amazing book it is. You just have to read it to know how awesome it is. So go, buy it , read it and then tell me your oppinion, since I told you mine.
After all, I recommend this book with the biggest pleasure. Every SF reader has to read it!
